In the town of Salzkotten, salt production has an almost 1,000-year-old tradition, which is now documented by the salt museum in the Heimathaus on Kirchplatz.

The Salt Museum provides information about Salzkotten and salt, the production process and the development of the town of Salzkotten up to the present day. Young and old visitors to the museum will be delighted by the "Salt Experience Workshop"

, where children and young people in particular can rediscover salt as a natural substance and experience the understanding of salt as one of the most precious materials on earth.
