The theatre, which has the Remscheid-born stage designer Teo Otto to thank for its name, is known for its extensive repertoire and its internationally-oriented programme. From opera and operetta, classic ballet and contemporary dance, to plays, children’s theatre, music hall and cabaret. The aim is to present the cultural scene in all its creativity and diversity. Settle into the comfortable theatre chairs and look towards the large stage, where the brilliant ensemble offers complete entertainment and experience for all the senses.

The theatre is also used as a venue by the Bergisch Symphony Orchestra. The joint orchestra of the towns of Remscheid and Solingen has enjoyed a permanent place within the German concert and music scene for decades. Good to know: The theatre is within close proximity to the Remscheid town hall and can be reached easily with public transport. The “Tiefgarage Rathaus” car park is also located at the theatre and can be used at a theatre rate.
