The annual city festival usually attracts over 200,000 visitors to Herford's city center. Over several days, it's all about socializing, meeting friends and old acquaintances and celebrating with them in a relaxed atmosphere, strolling around and letting yourself go. In short: it's a state of emergency in Herford - in every square in the city!

The Hoeker-Fest was celebrated for the first time in 1973, making it the traditional and cult event in Herford's city center. For the people of Herford, their city festival is an integral part of their diary and former Herford residents also use the festival to reunite with their homeland. The entire city center becomes a single "stage", open and freely accessible.
