The picturesque Bad Iburg and the old town of Osnabrück are beautiful destinations that can be easily reached by bike from Tecklenburg. With the foothills of the Teutoburg Forest, cyclists in the Tecklenburger Land region can expect one or two hills, but every effort is rewarded with marvellous views over the Münsterland region.

The area around the historic half-timbered town of Tecklenburg is a paradise for hikers and those seeking relaxation. The foothills of the Teutoburg Forest attract hikers and walkers. The best way to discover and enjoy nature is on one of the many trails.

Whether long-distance hiking trails, regional hiking trails or themed trails, everyone will find a suitable route here in Münsterland. After a visit to the museum, we definitely recommend following in Modersohn's footsteps along the four kilometre long, signposted Teutoschleifchen trail. Along the route, you can always discover great perspectives that inspired the artist to create his magnificent works.

Arrival by car:
Approach via A30 (Bad Oeynhausen - Rheine), exit Lotte (coming from the east) or exit Laggenbeck (coming from the west).
Approach via A1 exit Lengerich.
A direct journey is not possible. Driving is prohibited in the old town of Tecklenburg.
Designated parking spaces are available for visitors.
Arriving by train:
Tecklenburg does not have its own railway station.
The nearest stations are Ibbenbüren and Lengerich.
Continue to Tecklenburg by bus.
Bus line R45 from Ibbenbüren, bus station or from Lengerich station to Tecklenburg.
Parking
The historic old town of Tecklenburg is not accessible by car. Numerous large paid parking spaces are available to visitors outside the town centre. From the parking areas, the old town of Tecklenburg can be reached in approx. 5 to 15 minutes.
