The Schalkenmehren Drees had been completely forgotten and was only redesigned in the summer of 2020.

The Schalkenmehren Drees at the Winkelbach had been completely forgotten. In 1990, two committed Schalkenmehren citizens ensured that the Drees was rediscovered and reactivated. It was given a spring catchment, which was renewed once again in the summer of 2020.

The Drees is in the direction of Barninerhof in Schalkenmehren. On the further way you will come to the Winkelbach and there you will find the tapped magnesium-sodium-hydrogen carbonate spring, which bubbles out of the ground at a temperature of about 9 degrees.

Coming from Daun, follow Maarstraße until you reach the car park at the KuliMaarik restaurant, Maarstraße 7. From there, it is only possible to continue on foot along the "Heimatspur Maareglück" hiking trail in the direction of Barninerhof/Schalkenmehren.

The “Dreese” can be visited all year round.
Depending on the weather and the ground conditions, they are differently accessible.
